How to use Nirai phone

Method of Dialing

When making a call to a regular telephone
  • Dial the area code and telephone number of the other party, such as

    • 098-xxx-xxxx

    Example:
    To Okinawa: 098-xxx-xxxx
    To Tokyo: 03-xxxx-xxxx

When making a call to an IP phone
  • Dial the 11 telephone number of the other party starting with 050, such as

    • 050-xxxx-xxxx

When making an international call
  • 010 + Country code + Area code + Telephone number

The connection method of equipment

TEL Port
Telephone is connected using a modular cable (telephone wire).

* We pass a modular cable (telephone wire) at the time of installation of a cable modem.

LINE Port
NTT circuit is connected.

* It is not used when not using NTT circuit.

LAN Port
A personal computer is connected using a LAN cable.

* It is not used except the member of Nirai Internet service.

RF Port
The coaxial cable drawn from outside of the house is connected.

* If a coaxial cable was removed, since the re-connection work (charge) by our company construction staff is needed. We ask not to remove by yourself.

DC IN Port
AC adapter is connected with a cable modem.

The example of connection

Telephone set
A modular cable is used and it connects with the "TEL" port of a cable modem.
PC
A LAN cable is used and it connects with the "LAN" port of a cable modem.
(Only for the member of Nirai internet service )
Coaxial cable
A conaxial cable is connected to the "RF" port
In this case, the "LINE" port of a cable modem is not used.
NTT circuit
If you use NTT line together, A modular cable (telephone wire) is used and the "LINE" port of a cable modem is connected with a modular jack.

If a receiver is raised and "9" of telephone is pushed to talk over the NTT circuit.(choose NTT line)

The notes for a telephone call

  • In Nirai phone, it takes about 1.6 seconds until it pushes a hook key and a telephone call goes out. Keep in mind that the last telephone call will continue if a receiver is raised within 1.6 seconds. Before you retry dialing, push a hook key over than 1.6 seconds and watch the tel lamp of the cable modem has gone out. When connecting the NTT circuit with a cable modem and talking over the telephone by the NTT circuit side , on hook takes about 1.6 seconds until a telephone call goes out similarly. But if the modem is power off, it goes out in about 0.1 seconds.
  • In case of using Nirai phone without NTT circuit, it had better set switch to tone not to pulse. When NTT circuit is connected to a cable modem, Please set up telephone tone or pulse in accordance with NTT circuit contract.
  • When you call to the telephone number of NTT, please be sure to apply from a long-distance number.

    • For example ) 098-xxx-xxxx

  • It is possible to receive international calls to your Nirai Phone number. but from some of the country, it is impossible because of Sender's circumstances.
