SMTP Authentication
SMTP Authentication allows for roaming access and reduces the SPAM that increases the traffic overhead on our mail servers by providing verification that mail originates from a valid Expedient user. To use SMTP Authentication, your email software must support this feature.
- Open up Outlook Express. click [Tools] from the Main Menu and Select [Accounts] from the pull down menu
- Select the target account, then click [Properties]
- Click [Servers] tab
- Under [Outgoing Mail Server],Check the box at [My server requires authentication], then click [Advanced] tab
- The setting of SMTP Authentication is complete. Then go to the setting of SSL for Outgoing mail




Secure Socket Layer (SSL) for Outgoing Mail
Secure Socket Layer (SSL) refers to the standard method for encryption and authentication on the Internet. This added security provides you with protection against having your password stolen on an insecure connection to outgoing mail. To use SSL (outgoing mail), your E-mail software must support this feature.
- In the Properties window, check the box at[This server requires a secure connection (SSL)] under [Outgoing mail (SMTP)], then change port mumber of [Outgoing mail(SMTP)] to [465], then click on OK
- Click Close. Setting is complete
